Why Readers Come Back

"Rangé is the only style newsletter I haven't unsubscribed from — it's short, it's specific, and it never tries to sell me something I don't need." — A reader, since 2025

What readers say

★★★★★

Finally a style newsletter that explains *why* something works instead of just telling me to buy it.

James, London

The capsule wardrobe issue alone saved me hundreds of dollars in impulse purchases this year.

Marcus, Toronto
★★★★★

Short enough to read over coffee, specific enough to actually change how I get dressed.

A note from the editors

We started Rangé because most style advice online is either too basic or too precious.

It started as a shared note between two friends who kept sending each other the same complaint: every menswear article online was either "five basics every man needs" recycled for the hundredth time, or so steeped in jargon it was unusable without a glossary. There had to be a middle ground — advice written by people who actually cared about clothes, in language that didn't require a fashion degree to follow.

So we started writing one article a week, the way we'd explain it to a friend getting dressed for a first day at a new job, or trying to figure out why a jacket that fit fine in the shoulders somehow still looked wrong. No affiliate links dictating what we cover, no seasonal "must-haves" we don't actually believe in — just the reasoning behind what works, so you can apply it long after you've stopped reading any one article.

What guides the writing

Fit first

No accessory or trend fixes a jacket that doesn't sit right. Every piece starts with what actually changes how clothes look on a body.

Buy less, wear more

Recommendations favor pieces that earn their place in rotation over seasonal must-haves that don't.

Plain language

No jargon for its own sake. If a term matters, we explain it in the same sentence.

Read twice, edited once

Every issue is drafted, tested against our own wardrobes, and read by both editors before it goes out. If a piece of advice doesn't hold up in practice, it doesn't get published — that's the standard we started this journal to meet.

Quick answers

How often does a new issue come out? +

Every Thursday, without exception. If we ever miss a week, we'll tell subscribers why.

Is it really free? +

Yes — no paywall, no premium tier. Rangé is supported by our own time, not subscriber fees.

Do you take article requests? +

Often. Send yours through the contact form and select "Story pitch or request."

Do you do sponsored content? +

No. Every recommendation reflects what we'd actually tell a friend, not what a brand paid for.
